Dr.David K. Allen Of
Epic Village CDC

Dr. David K. Allen is the Founder and Executive Director of Epic Village Community Development Corporation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Brooklyn, NY, as well as the founder of DAVIDKELVIN INC, a Management & Leadership Training Corporation. Established in 2020, Epic Village was created with the intentional purpose of bridging the divide of resources and awareness affecting families and leaders in low-income communities. In its four years of service, the organization, under Dr. Allen’s leadership, has consistently supported families throughout the year. Alongside this work, Dr. Allen presently serves as the Senior Pastor of Bethel Tabernacle AME Church in Weeksville, Crown Heights, Brooklyn.
Born and raised in St. John’s, Antigua, Dr. Allen served as an undercover detective in the Narcotics Department before pursuing higher education. He earned his BA in Business from the Metropolitan College of New York in 2003, graduating with honors, followed by a Master of Divinity from Alliance Theological Seminary in 2013, and a Doctoral Degree in Church and Community Development from Drew University in 2017. As an ordained Itinerant Elder and Senior Pastor in the African Methodist Episcopal Church, Dr. Allen has also
held executive and leadership roles in major corporations including Coach, Kenneth Cole, L’Oréal USA, and J.P. Morgan Private Wealth, where he worked for ten years as a Private Wealth Banker. Through David Kelvin Inc., he and his team conduct workshops on leadership, employee development, workplace management, and senior management consulting, while also partnering with churches in the Caribbean to lead retreats and leadership seminars.
With a passion for community development and growth, Dr. Allen has facilitated monthly and annual leadership meetings and retreats in New Jersey, Connecticut, Queens, St. Martin, Anguilla, Antigua, London, and South Africa. His collaborative leadership has extended to training efforts with City-to-City NYC, L.E.A.D. NY, and ALI (Advanced Leadership Intensive). Known for his guiding statement, “Let’s not be a Monument but a Movement,” Dr. Allen actively builds relationships between the church and community. He has worked with numerous nonviolence groups and community organizations, including the 67th Precinct God Squad, the 77th Precinct United Clergy Council, the 100th Precinct of Far Rockaway Arverne, NOBLE NYPD, Young Life Crown Heights, Repair the World Brooklyn, JCRCNY, WAABFAH (We Are All Brooklyn Against Hate Fellowship), One Crown Heights, UJA (United Jewish Association), and Romemu Brooklyn Synagogue. Each month, he organizes “Brooklyn Communities Against The Hate,” a gathering of community influencers to address hate crimes, bias incidents, and bullying prevalent in Black and Brown communities. During the summer, he collaborates with police entities to host youth-focused street events across Bedford Stuyvesant, Crown Heights, and local housing developments. Despite his many community and international achievements, Dr. Allen counts his greatest accomplishment as his relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and his family. He is married with two children.

communities by empowering both young and older adults, to create safe
spaces within their community towards eradicating Hate Crimes and Hate
Violence.
The Vision of Epic Village Community Development Corporation is to see
Black and Brown communities adequately equipped with resources to
empower Families to live safe and fulfilling lives within the communities they
are called to serve and live.
